Henson Metal Works will enhance the lives of our employees, community and customers through products worthy of the emblems/logos they display as well as all of the integrity, passion and joy they represent. With guiding principles such as commitment to quality, ongoing creativity, craftsmanship, and customer service, Henson Metal Works proposes to become “THE” national source for decorative metal collegiate and celebrity branded accessories for the home and garden.
Henson Metal Works (HMW), founded in 2010, is located in Tupelo, MS, the heart of a region renowned for furniture manufacturing. Owner David Henson grew up in a family-owned furniture manufacturing company and has been successful in the industry for 40 years.
Henson has a lifelong interest in designing and building accessories for the home and garden with architectural or historical influences.
Like so many entrepreneurial enterprises, HMW was born while developing decorative metal accessories for friends and family. In the process, Henson recognized an opportunity to create a line of products that provide a whimsical yet tasteful way to showcase collegiate or other affiliations in a way that exceeds the most discriminating decorator’s requirements.
The Henson Metal Works logo, pictured as three green dots arranged in a triangle, was created as a result of owner David Henson’s long love affair with aviation. Henson came to enjoy and respect the language, engineering, and discipline used in general aviation. At the end of a flight, just before landing, the pilot checks the instrument panels and affirms that the three wheels of the landing gear are all down and locked. This is done by checking for three green lights, and the pilot affirms “three green, no red.”
To David, hearing those words came to symbolize that the journey had ended safely, and all was well. He decided to incorporate three green dots into the company logo to represent the three green lights on the instrument panel, and to convey the same sense of welcome one feels after coming home safely from a journey. What better way to represent a company whose mission is to design and build products that help convey the same “welcome” message for your home.
